Bluetooth keyboard and mouse
Pair any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The bridge speaks ADB to the SE and later, and the original keyboard and mouse protocols to the 128K, 512K and Plus. Or type straight from your computer.
For every Macintosh from 1984 to 2001
Platinum Bridge plugs into the back of your Mac and connects it to the modern world: a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, the Mac on your WiFi, and files and screen over the air from your computer. No soldering, no opening the Mac.
Pair any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The bridge speaks ADB to the SE and later, and the original keyboard and mouse protocols to the 128K, 512K and Plus. Or type straight from your computer.
The bridge answers your Mac like a modem and puts it on your network. MacTCP and Open Transport get an IP address with the software of the day: browse, FTP, or mount a share from your NAS.
Send apps and documents from your computer straight into the Mac, resource forks and all, with the free Platinum Agent. No floppies to shuffle.
Watch and control the real Mac’s screen from your computer, and debug your own programs on real hardware with a live log and memory inspector.
The 0.96" display shows a happy Mac when everything’s talking, and the five-way joystick gets you to WiFi, Bluetooth and settings without a computer.
A single connector on the bridge and a short adapter cable for your Mac family. It runs from the Mac’s own power, or from USB-C.
Designed as a tiny compact Mac, in platinum grey. The light on the front glows in any colour to show what the bridge is doing, and the slot where a compact Mac has its floppy drive takes a microSD card. Everything else plugs in at the back: the Mac cable, USB-C and a pinhole reset.
Choose your Mac when you order and the right adapter comes in the box.
SE, SE/30, II family, Classic, LC, Quadra, Performa, Power Macintosh

128K, 512K, 512Ke
The keyboard and mouse ports, and the original 9-pin serial port.
Platinum is the app for Windows, macOS and Linux that drives the bridge. It also emulates every Mac OS from System 1 to 9.2.2, opens and edits HFS disk images, and builds Platinum Agent for your Mac. It’s free software, and it works with the do-it-yourself bridge too.

No. The bridge plugs into the ports on the back of your Mac with the adapter cable for its family.
No, it complements them. Those emulate drives; Platinum Bridge gives your Mac a keyboard, a mouse, a network and a link to your computer. Many people will use both.
It goes through the Mac’s serial port, which runs at 57.6 kbit/s on most Macs: about 5 KB/s. That’s plenty for apps, documents, text browsing and FTP, and it’s how these Macs went online in their day.
Yes. The Platinum app, the bridge firmware and Platinum Agent are free software under the GPL. You can also build your own bridge from the guide on GitHub.
The first batch is being prototyped and tested on real Macs now. Join the waitlist and you’ll hear first when it’s ready, along with the price.
Leave your email and the Mac you’d use it with. One email when the first batch is ready, nothing else.
NukeWorks (Barcelona) keeps your email and your Mac only to tell you when the bridge is ready, on Cloudflare’s servers, and never shares them. Reply to that email and we’ll delete them.
